About
My name is Shawna and I will be your photographer! I have been into photography since I got my first 110 camera at 7 or 8 years of age. I’m now a 31 yr old mother of 3 (soon to be 4!) and I’ve refined my skills just a bit;)
I specialize in newborn and senior photos, but I’m up for anything! I shoot anyone from newborn on up… families, events, very limited weddings at the moment, but may extend that at some point.
My style is fun and Bright! I love color and lots of it. I also love to have fun at my sessions. My poses aren’t always typical. Sometimes we don’t pose at all, we just play. I want to capture who you are, whether that is quiet and shy or crazy and bubbly! Sometimes I might ask you to do crazy things… just trust me! You’ll love the result, even if I do ask you to sit in that creek;) I’ll wait till the rest of the session is over at least, so you aren’t wet and sloppy for the rest of your photos. (Don’t worry, I don’t do this to everyone, but if you come with an open mind, we’ll have a great time and get some really great images.)
I do also do black and white at client request, and when the photo warrants it. I often do maternity and newborn in both color and black and white for a beautiful, timeless look.
In addition to my business, I volunteer for 3 very special photo charities.
NILMDTS is an infant bereavement program where we are called upon when a baby either passed before/during/after the birth, or the baby will pass soon. Please, if you know anyone going through this, let them know about us! They can find a photographer at www.nilmdts.org or call me directly and I’ll either help or pass it on to my coordinator if I can’t take the call. You won’t find examples of these sessions on my site, as they are very personal and private, but I do them, so contact me if needed!
Op Love is a program that gives our deployed and deploying soldiers photos of their families while they are overseas. If you know someone with a family member serving, please direct them to www.oplove.org they can sign up through there and then search for a photographer in their area, or they can contact me through here and I will take good care of them
The littlest Heroes project is a non profit organization that photographs children with severe illnesses and life altering disabilities. You’ll find a few of these on my site, as an important part of this organization is educating people and spreading the word about these conditions. You must go through the website to get a littlest Heroes session http://www.littlestheroesproject.org/ .
