Sometimes for whatever reason, a baby can't get in at 2-3 weeks for their newborn session. We are still able to get some wonderful photos at older ages. They won't always be exactly like the curled up newborn photos you are used to seeing, but you would be surprised at what we can accomplish. Little Dez here was a few days shy of 3 months when he came in for his photos. His mom just loved that I had a Starbucks apron, so we had to get a shot in that. He looks like a little Starbucks CEO here. lol

I recently had little miss Hadley in for her newborn photos. She actually came by once for her Hospital photos since she was born at Hancock Regional Hospital. Then she came back for a full session. She slept so well. We were able to get a lot of different poses. Here are a few of my favorites <3

If you're looking to book your newborn session, I recommend doing that when you are around 20-25 weeks to make sure you are locked in for a session. I have tons of senior and newborn sessions I need to post on here. It feels like there is never enough time! However, I haven't spoken much about maternity sessions. The reason is, I only book maternity sessions for my newborn clients. It's a special thing I do only for them! 2022 Newborn sessions are booking quickly. I highly recommend booking around 20 weeks to ensure that you have a spot. Brynn is on my class of 2022 Senior VIP team. She upgraded to my ELITE VIP option which means she got my VIP (normally $650 session) with hair and makeup and she will get a gorgeous signature album and a complimentary cap and gown session at the end of the year plus all of the other things that come with being on my team. These images are a few from her main session, plus her sneak video! Brynn had such a fun shoot. She had several outfit changes and looks and wasn't afraid to be a little different. Her dad is big time into Green Day, so the end of her shoot, she punked out and did some shots for him. I absolutely LOVE babies and everything about photographing them! I recently had this little doll in my home studio! She slept like a dream, and I believe it was the shortest newborn session I have ever had. We got some gorgeous images in that time!

If you are looking for a senior photo experience that is EXTRA, look no further! At Shawna Marie Photography, we know that feeling your most beautiful begins on the inside. As a member of my team you will start the year with a raw beauty shoot and interview ... many of my previous team members have talked about how much this session changed and helped them see themselves in a different way.

After everyone has their raw beauty shoot we get together for a Meet and Greet where the whole team gets to meet. We have a little party or cookout and always a super fun cake from Gwendolyn Lee Cakery! If you have never had one of her cakes you MUST check them out!

At this party you will also be paired with a smaller group of girls. With these girls, you will get to plan your own mini themed shoot! Think out of the box, unique and fun for this one! We have done these at diners, record stores, shopping malls ... we have done movie themes, decade themes, farm themes etc. The sky is the limit! If you can think it, I'm game to try it!

Then you also get your own personal senior session. You choose locations and get your makeup done by our in house makeup artist, Amy! This session is also yours to plan, though I am happy to help with suggestions!

We will also do a group shoot with our entire group! We have done a Boho theme twice in 2 different locations, a 50s shoot in a home straight out of the 50s, an 80s shoot in a roller rink, a shoot at Victory Field, Waterfalls, Downtown and dressed fancy, a campfire shoot ... they have all been so much fun and I can't wait to plan the next one!

And on top of all of that, you have the option to try to earn a destination shoot! So far we have done this in Chicago once and Nashville, TN twice. The team votes on this one, so it's all you!

Every year my model team splits into groups and plans their own theme. They plan their outfits, hair and makeup, location and theme and I come out and make it happen. This group decided they wanted to do a Pretty little Liars theme and they knocked it out of the park! Check out a few of my favorites below!

I should have been around in the 50s. I just love everything about it, and pretty much every year, some of my seniors also want to do something out of the 1950's. We've done an indoor diner and an outdoor diner so I wanted to do something different this year. I spent hours scouring the internet ... Then I found it, and I knew I had to make this happen! A whole entire house straight out of the 50s. and it was only an hour and 10 minutes from my house! Not only that, it was an airbnb so I could actually rent the place!

I chatted back and forth with the owner who was super accommodating and happy to have our group there. The girls did an amazing job putting together their outfits and playing the part. I'm still in the process of going through the photos, but these were some faves that I pulled out. <3
